My Final Form

This picture is one of my favorites I've done! I can't stop staring at the CRT effect. This is truly what I desired from having this display.

I loved the idea of drawing some kind of soft fleshy useless being. I thought much of when deep sea creatures die and end up washed ashore. In the depths, the massive pressure underwater keeps their forms intact and solid, but at the surface that pressure is gone and their bodies inflate, much like opening a compressed pillow from Ikea. These beached creatures end up looking nothing like how they're supposed to, and it can be hard to identify any of their features. These soft, bloated things looking only vaguely aquatic, and more alien than anything. I thought a lot about the blobfish, or deep sea squids. I also thought a lot about the great one Kos (or some say Kosm) from Bloodborne. I'd like to dive into this concept more in the future.

I drew this one in Procreate on an iPad, connected to a converter box to the CRT. There's some interesting dissonance between what I saw on my high-res LCD screen and what I saw on the TV. Ultimately, I used the CRT as reference for my colors, since it displays them differently. As a matter of fact, I looked at the CRT more than the screen I was drawing onto. I loved making this one.
